Volunteer Opportunities

  • Teach at Our Interim Housing: Share a skill to residents at our Interim Housing in South Los Angeles and Watts. Examples of classes taught by volunteers include yoga, fitness, arts, art, and poetry classes. Email us with a brief description of what you would like to teach along with possible times and dates for scheduling purposes. This requires a background check and a three month commitment.

  • Make My First Day at Home Baskets: Support a community member who is working to re-establish themselves. The baskets can include necessities like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, clothes, shoes, blankets and other items.

  • Make Almost Home Care Packages: For those that are still working towards stabilized housing. These packages can have toiletry items.

Packages and baskets can be dropped off at our Mental Health Center located at 10549 Jefferson Blvd. Culver City, CA 90230.

  • At Our Events:We have events throughout the year and could use additional help with set up and event preparations. This is a wonderful way to volunteer for people that would like to help but have limited time.

We are looking for individuals that are passionate about making a difference in the community and are aligned with Alcott’s mission of reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and homelessness.
