• Make “Welcome Home” Baskets: Many of our clients who we help to find permanent housing for enter their new housing environments with nothing. Welcome Home baskets provide basic necessities to help support them as they begin a new season of stability and security.

• Make Hygiene Kits: Smaller bags of essential toiletry items, hygiene kits are a crucial and practical way to support community members’ health and dignity. Alcott provides hygiene kits to community members based on need, including clients entering permanent housing, interim housing, and often to clients experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

• Teach at Our Interim Housing: Share a skill with residents. Examples of classes taught by volunteers include resume building, fitness, arts and crafts, yoga, and poetry classes. Requires a background check and a three month commitment.

• At Our Events: We have events throughout the year. This is a wonderful way to volunteer for people that would like to help but have limited time.
