Here are ways to get involved.
Make “Welcome Home” Baskets: Many of our clients entering new permanent housing environments move in with nothing. Welcome Home baskets provide basic necessities to help support them as they begin a new season of stability and security.
Make Hygiene Kits: Hygiene kits are smaller bags of essential toiletry items. These are a crucial and practical way to support community members’ health and dignity. Alcott provides hygiene kits to community members based on need, including clients entering permanent housing, interim housing, and often to clients experiencing homelessness or housing instability
Teach at Our Interim Housing: Share a skill with residents. Examples of classes taught by volunteers include resume building, fitness, arts and crafts, yoga, and poetry classes. This opportunity requires a background check.
At Our Events: We have events throughout the year which often require the help of volunteers. This is a great opportunity for those who can only volunteer for short periods of time. We are currently seeking volunteers for the Screenland 5k on March 2, 2025.
